About Bury Canoe and Kayak Club

  • Where and When do the club meet?
  • The club meet at Burrs Park on most Sunday evenings (6pm - 8pm in summer, and 5pm - 7pm in winter until late September). During the winter months we normally meet up at Radcliffe Swimming pool on Sundays (6-7pm) .

    Some Sundays we have day trips to other rivers, once you are a confident paddler you will be welcome to come.
  • How do I join?
  • Anyone can join either as an individual, family or youth member.. Just turn up to one of the sessions and we will provide you with all the kit and basic instruction you need. We have access to the training pool at Burrs and can teach you the basics before going on to the river.

    Once you have tried a few sessions you will be required to join the club.

  • What equipment do I need?
  • The club will provide most equipment for kayaking. This includes boyancy aid, helmet, spraydeck, kayak and paddle. A wetsuit is recommended to keep you warm, (but it is personal preference whether you want to wear one or not). Wet shoes or old trainers are also recommended.
